The pulse oximeter PO80 from Beurer is intended for the non-invasive measuring the arterial oxygen saturation (SPO2) and the heart rate frequency (pulse rate). The oxygen saturation indicates how much percent of the hemoglobin in arterial blood is saturated with oxygen. That is why it is an important parameter for assessing the respiratory function. If your personally set alarm limits are exceeded or exceeded, you will be warned by an audible signal.

When measuring, the pulse oximeter uses two light rays with a different wavelength, which amounted to the finger placed on the inside of the housing on the finger placed in the device. Due to the integrated memory, a continuous recording of up to 24 hours can be made. You can connect the pulse oximeter to a computer via the integrated USB connection. With the SPO2 software you can analyze your recording accurate.

In most cases, a low oxygen saturation value is caused by disorders (asthma, heart failure, respiratory system, etc.). In many cases, people with a low oxygen saturation value suffer from the following symptoms: breathlessness, increased heart rate frequency, reduction of performance, nervousness and sweat outbreaks. In the event of a chronic and known reduced oxygen saturation, controls must be carried out under medical supervision. The pulse oximeter is used for this.

With an acutely reduced oxygen saturation, with or without the associated symptoms, a doctor must immediately be consulted. It can be a life-threatening situation here. The pulse oximeter is therefore particularly suitable for risk patients (such as asthmaticians and persons with heart disease), but also for athletes and healthy persons who are often on large heights (such as mountain climbers, skiers or hobbyilots).

You can transfer the measured values of the pulse oximeter using the SPO2 software to your Windows computer. With the "SpO2 assistant" you can view your values during the in real time measurement on the computer screen and you can previously put and manage saved measured values on the computer.
